Highlands County Libraries: Craft Pick Up Week 3

November craft bags for week three will be available November 17-21, 2020 during normal library operating hours. The third week’s theme will be a craft of “Pumpkin Pie.” Each bag/kit will contain the supplies and instructions for the craft along with related book titles, snacks, and additional resources that tie into the craft! If you cannot visit any of the Highlands County Library System branches (Avon Park, Lake Placid or Sebring), you can still participate in the craft. Below are the instructions and the included related snacks, videos, and book titles.

CRAFT INSTRUCTIONS: 

*Please note, this craft was found through a Google image search and became the inspiration for the craft we are supply instructions for you all!

(You can be creative and resourceful by using what you already have at home, but these are the supplies we included in the craft kits: paper plate, orange construction paper cut into a triangle, brown strip of construction paper, cinnamon, and cotton ball or white pompom.

  1. Paste the orange triangle onto the paper plate. make sure you match the pointed parts of both sections.
  2. Fold the brown strip of construction paper like an accordion. Paste each end of the brown paper by the edge of the paper plate, above the orange triangle.
  3. Use glue to stick the glitter and cinnamon onto the orange (pumpkin) part of the pie.
  4. Paste the cotton ball (cool-whip) onto the orange part.
