6 weeks Summer Reading Challenge
Rules, Instructions and Announcements:
- Step 1: Registration begins Thursday, May 30, 2024 until Saturday, June 1, 2024. Please stop into the library to sign-up and pick-up your registration packets. Each packet will include reading logs, mini book reviews, and some cool activity sheets. Each activity sheet completed and turned into the library will be counted as points.
We also included all of the 2024-2025 Sunshine State Young Readers’ List.
- Age Groups: All books must be aligned with grade levels and groups and will go through a verification process.
- Preschool (0-4) – must read together with parents or guardians for at least 15 minutes per day… picture books, board books, and simple rhyming books.
Elementary (5-12), Teens and Tweens (13-17) and Adults (18+)
- Step 2: Log your Reading: Log each book you read and fill out the Mini Book review. (If you need more reading logs, you can come to the library for free copies.)
- Step 3: Feed your brain with books until Saturday, July 13th. ALL reading logs and reviews are due (at library) no later than Saturday, July 13th, at 1:00p.
- At the end of the challenge, grand prizes will be awarded to top readers in each age group.
- All participants who registers and complete the challenge will receive a certificate of achievement and will be entered into a raffle.
- Storytime for all age groups will be every Tuesday, beginning June 4, 2024 at 10:00a. Storytime includes a fun icebreaker activity, read book of the day, and craft-time.
- In-Library activities and events will be announced… stay tuned for dates.

- Our summer kick-off storytime will be held at the library on Tuesday, June 4th with Smokey the Bear and his Ranger friends (if he’s not called to put out fires…finger crossed) and our kick-off event will also be held at the library on Friday, June 7, 2024 at 10:00a, featuring Gerard Tricarico, “Out of My Hands Juggling & Illusion Show”… Blending choreographed juggling with magical illusions, Out of My Hands delivers a high-energy show that is both innovative and interactive.
- Seats are limited. Doors open at 9:30a. First come first seated and snacks will be provided.
