The Highlands County Library System is launching two new book club programs. Join librarians at each of the Highlands County Library branches (Avon Park, Sebring, & Lake Placid) for a quarterly book club, where participants and librarians will read the featured title and then join for a discussion and/or related activities at the quarterly book club meeting.
The first quarterly book club meeting date is set for 10 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 1, and the featured title is “A Christmas Carol,” by Charles Dickens.
Additionally, the Avon Park Public Library will be hosting a monthly book club with a separate featured title and participants can visit the Avon Park branch on the designated date for that book club discussion.
The first monthly book club date is set for 10 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 6, and the featured title is “Bless Me, Ultima,” by Rudolfo Anaya.
